Time for Tea, I think NOT!

Having hailed from Great Britain, I have always been rather partial to a nice cup of tea. However after seeing the tactics of that last bastion of “fair and balanced” journalism – FOX news – I’ve developed rather a bitter taste in my mouth when it comes to Tea Time. The FOX propelled TEA party , extreme right wing fanatics have really given me a distinct abhorrence for the aforementioned staple of the British Empire.
The bitter taste of the so called “tea party” leaves little to the imagination and an great deal of questions about what is right and that which is so very, very wrong.
There are some who claim they are a “proud member of the Angry Mob” referring to that inglorious bastard child of the GOP-The Tea Party… but what the heck does anger and violence accomplish? One such Tea Party supporter caught my attention recently on a debatable, anonymous comment driven, blog which seems devoted to bashing four members of the current city council in Sierra Madre and singing the praises of one who happens to be, you guessed it, a Tea Party supporter.
If you read between the thinly veiled tea-leaf lines of these contributors and the blog’s moderator, one can quickly see the insufferable and those who hold the same philosophy dear to their tell tale hearts.
The anti-gay, anti-muslim and pro-life rhetoric of The Tea Party is blatant and disturbing and certainly getting a lot of attention in the days leading up to the mid terms.
Without pointing too many fingers or naming too many names, there is a moderately tepid Tea Party contingent in Pasadena and Sierra Madre. Former Sierra Madre Mayor (now a council member) Mary Ann MacGillivray, De and Pat Alcorn among others in Sierra Madre are staunch supporters of the Tea Party according to the Pasadena Patriots’ website. They may think they”ll take back something, but what? Sadly, the so called Family Values of the Tea Party appear perverse to an ever growing growing number of undecided voters. It seems their number one goal is to keep President Obama as a one term President. It seems the TP will do anything to undermine the President’s authority and do whatever it takes to get their TP candidate heard.
On Tuesday , video cameras captured the 23-year-old MoveOn.org activist, Lauren Valle, being wrestled to the ground after Rand Paul supporters removed a blonde wig she had been wearing. A man – later identified as Tim Profitt – was seen stepping on the woman’s neck repeatedly in a violent manner. Profitt has since apologized for the incident, but was given a criminal summons Tuesday to appear in court.
Ironically, one of those captured on video tape during Tuesdays Rand Paul madness was wearing a T shirt that stated one of the Tea Party slogans – “Don’t Tread on Me!”
This is not the first incidence of violence from the Tea Party:
Consequently I’m offering , for your consideration, my own grassroots political movement – I think I’ll call it the Bloody Silly Party. For my newly formed BS party, I plan on having coffee klatches outside City Hall at precisely 11 am daily and we’ll talk of why the country is really falling apart. We can, hopefully, be of assistance those politicians and their ever so blind supporters to “take back” all the dense , obtuse and ill-advised comments they have uttered during this highly contentious and somewhat comical mid-term election.
I’ll attempt to put humor in my new found party – replacing the violence and hatred seems which to be so common in the Tea Party.
If these guys put one tenth of the money they spend on attack ads trying to help their fellow man…… My Goodness…… If only! I f only the TP didn’t try to suppress the press as it did recently by handcuffing a reporter.
How could anyone in his or her right mind want to vote for a Gubernatorial candidate who threatened to “Take Out” a Newsday reporter . And , no, I don’t think ( the threat ) was an offer of a date. But then again, Carl likes the family unit: Carl Paladino believes so strongly in Family Values that he has two families. One with his wife , another with his mistress.
It has come to my attention that one TEAPAC supporter in Sierra Madre has apparently turned her house into a precinct office for Candidate Tim Donnely who is a proud Minuteman hoping to get Anthony Adam’s seat. He ( Donnoly) even has a picture of himself smiling next to notorious Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who is NOT smiling. Arpaio, you may recall, gained national attention for his relentless pursuit of illegal immigrants, but now the hard-line lawman finds himself under investigation for possibly breaking civil rights laws.
It gets better:
Former Minuteman Tim Donnoly who really wants Anthony Adams’ seat said he’ll “annihilate the enemies of freedom and pound them into the ground to take back the power”, according to one reliable news source. See it yourself on You Tube.
Now there’s a man who wear his pants the way the Christine O’Donnell likes ’em worn: Here’s what Tea Party Christine had to say about her opponent Mike Castle recently:
“You know, these are the kind of cheap, underhanded, un-manly tactics that we’ve come to expect from Obama’s favorite Republican, Mike Castle,” said O’Donnell. “You know, I released a statement today, saying Mike this is not a bake-off, get your man-pants on.”
-Christine O’Donnell, on Castle’s allegation that she illegally coordinated campaign activities with the Tea Party Express
How about Nevada GOP senate candidate Sharron Angle who has tried her best to avoid the press: “People ask me, ‘What are you going to do to develop jobs in your state? “Well, that’s not my job as a U.S. senator.” -Sharron Angle, May 14, 2010 or my personal favorite: “We needed to have the press be our friend … We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported.” –Sharron Angle, during an interview with Fox News Channel’s Carl Cameron, Aug. 2, 2010
The late night talk show writers and political pundits are having a great deal of fun with the Tea Party. Truth, in fact, is far more alien than the fiction the right wing wants the majority of America to believe.

Here, one of the Tea Partys’ darlings, Sarah Palin, fineest moments:
”Well, let’s see. There’s – of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there’s never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but -”
-Sarah Palin, unable to name a Supreme Court decision she disagreed with other than Roe vs. Wade, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008
Finally, I share this classic from a gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman for the state of California where unemployment is at an all time high:
“China is unique. It is growing rapidly, and it has a tremendous amount of potential, which is why we have made it a priority for the company.”
Sex , Lies and videotaped violence against those who don’t believe in the Tea Party line: It’s all here in living color, on You Tube on every tube every night of the week. The like’s of Christine O’Donnell, Sharon Engle, John Colbert, Meg Whitman, Alvaro Day, Tim Donnoly and a cast of thousands spewing the tea party propaganda.
At the recent “Tea Party Express ” stop outside the Rose Bowl, proud supporters of FOX news were wearing their gladrags proudly
In the immortal words of someone, somewhere recently who was doing a parody on Glenn Beck … “Remember, the Majority of Tea Parties are still being put on by little girls.”
I rest my case!

Editor’s Note: We know there are always two sides to every story, sometime there may be three. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the upcoming election…let us know what you think!
