Free Live Music at Westfield Santa Anita

Every Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m., now through June 20, Westfield Santa Anita will feature live outdoor performances of local musical legends.
“The entire community is invited to join us for our free live entertainment,” said Amanda Glover, director of marketing for Westfield Santa Anita. “We are delighted to support local artists while celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Promenade Shops.”
As an added bonus for customers, Westfield Santa Anita is giving away one $250 Westfield Gift Card every week, now through June 20, 2010. One prize per person, restriction applies. See Westfield Concierge for details.
“The live performances are wonderful outing for the whole family,” Glover added. “They are a great way to kick off the season and celebrate Father’s Day.”
The performances are free and open to the public. The first concert is this Sunday, May 30 with a mix of Cuban, funk jazz and more, performed by José Espinoza’s Umbalaye Band. One of Los Angeles’ top musicians, José was a founding member of Ozomatli, helping form its unmistakable sound and creating a musical legacy that has defined Los Angeles’ diverse culture for millions around the globe.

Enjoy the distinctive sounds of seven of the orchestra’s top players, who are both classical virtuosos and jazz masters, creating one of the top jazz acts in the SouthLand. These talented musicians combine a diverse range of musical styles to create something new and fresh every moment.

Elevation Orchestra
This predominately African American orchestra consists of 17 string players and a rhythm section (piano, bass, and drums). The group’s music blend ranges from Motown to hip-hop, jazz and classical.

This iconic orchestra, led by the legendary Maestro Victor Vener, is renowned for its high-quality professional performances of a diverse range of genres, including jazz, pops, Broadway and opera.
