Senior Accountant

Our companies, including a rapidly growing restaurant group and various media entities, are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant/Controller to join our team. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our multiple locations, ensuring that all accounting processes and procedures are efficient, accurate, and compliant with all relevant regulations. You will work closely with our CEO and others to provide financial insights, recommendations, and reports that help drive our business forward. The ideal candidate will have significant restaurant accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger management
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to provide meaningful insights to management
• Ensure all accounting processes and procedures are compliant with regulatory requirements and policies
• Manage month-end close process, including reconciling accounts, reviewing journal entries, and preparing accruals and deferrals
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including, vendors, auditors, tax professionals, and banks
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting, as well as special projects as needed

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role
• Experience with restaurant accounting, including inventory management, cost of goods sold, etc.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, etc.) and MS Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively
